Cognitive Group

Tim Griffiths (Neurology) and Tom Kelly (Neuropsychology) run the Newcastle Cognitive Neurology Clinic in which patients with memory, perceptual and speech disorders (referred by neurology, psychology, psychiatry and speech and language therapy) receive clinical second opinions and take part in research. Griffiths runs a research programme into central hearing and also runs a clinic for central auditory disorders at the National Hospital. Kelly has expertise in both adult and paediatric neuropsychology and inputs to the epilepsy surgery programme in addition.

Mark Cunningham and Miles Whittington collaborate on neurophysiological aspects of cognitive function.

The Practical Cognition Course is run from the Department on a yearly basis.
